Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I went to the Colour Run today and spotted the Windsor Parking Meter Maids ticketing all of the cars on side streets parked at meters that expired. I know its the bi-law in Windsor. I also know that downtown Windsor has become a ghost town of only "bar-hopping" teenagers and vacant, abandoned offices and past retail stores. An event like the Colour Run brings OVER 10 THOUSAND PEOPLE to the downtown core, where the city NEEDS people to go. So I ask the politicians of Windsor to give me a great reason as to why you cannot have "slack" days for one day events like these in an effort to make Windsor downtown vibrant again, with a good economy. Personally, I parked in the FULL parking garage. But friends of ours had to go to the meter 2 times during the event to put in more coins. And on the final one, they had a Meter-Maid 2 cars down from theirs, hovering around, waiting for the final 3 minutes to tick off their meter clock. WAKE UP POLITICIANS!!!! And this event was in support of the local Alzheimer's Charity as well. Wake up Windsor Politicians!

So, last night my Fiance, my friend and I were wandering downtown between 10pm and 11pm. Randomly we heard and felt this massive loud bang. The people near jumped but other than that nobody seemed to care or realize. Did anyone else hear this noise or know what caused it?
My daughter and boyfriend in there way to the color run.... Have fun Kendra and Brent!

Today at 6am, I woke to a day that I was told two years ago would never be able to happen. Two years ago, I had contracted Guillian Barre Syndrome from a cold that had mutated leaving me completely paralyzed from the neck down. Guillian Barre Syndrome is extremely painful as it eats away the coating on your nerves and interrupts the signals those nerves send to your brain. Exposed nerves are extremely painful. This shut everything off like a light switch. Arms, legs, gone. I was sent to 8w at Hotel Dieu, where I met the two most amazing nurses of my life, Emily and Lori, who made my journey into hell that much more bearable. They were where I found my strength to move, to try, and after to weeks I was sent to Malden Park for rehab. Two and a half months of intense physio therapy at Malden Park, Thank you, Anita, Majjic, and many many others, I left barely walking under my own power but not before meeting Carla.
Her solution to my problem of seven steps into my house was simple. Spend $10,000 on a chair lift, or sell the house. I wasn't getting any better according to her, so to this woman, F you.
So today as I prepared on the morning of my first 5k that I was told I would never be able to do, I say thank you to all those who helped push me from Hotel Dieu, Malden Park, and the people who watched me at work recover. To those who need it, NEVER lose hope, push and don't give up. There is light even in the middle of the tunnel. Find the strength.
