I just wanted to thank these wonderful professionals who treated my 88yr old mother with such kindness and care before, during and after her mastectomy on the 18th. She was diagnosed and treated within two months so while the system may not be perfect all the time. It worked perfectly for her, so thank you for your great care and tenderness with my mum.

I was in Belle River tonight for the movie on the park with my kids, and my two friends and their families. We decided to go to Timmies in Belle River afterwards for a tea and snack for the kids. The ladies working tonight were awesome. My daughter ordered a mocha and did not like the taste. The lady that took our order offered to remake it no problem, and suggested putting a cream in it, that did the trick. Also, the manager gave me a Tim Cup free hot drink card for the inconvenience. I was looking for a pumpkin this week for some maternity photos but could not find anyone who sold them from a farm just yet. The only place I seen any was Zhers on tecumseh and lauzon. All the pumpkins are quite large and to heavy for a 9bmonth pregnant lady to pick up. I decided to walk in and ask the self scan employee if there was anyone who could help me if I bought it first. She looked around while Nicola is walking by. He was more than happy to help and was very polite. He walked with me to the pumpkins helped me pick the "picture perfect" one and walked with me to my van. I know I thanked him but I really wanted him to get the recognition he deserves. Thank you Nicola you have excellent customer service and glad that you helped me out and I wouldnt have gotten that picture without you!

Today(September 19th), between 6 and 7pm at the Liquor Store on Walker and Ottawa, I crossed paths with a young gentleman on the parking lot who upon seeing me trying to get into my pick up with a couple of bags, grabbed my vehicle door and held it open while I got in and than closed it. With such chilvary, charm and soft spoken words accompanied by a smile he says: That's how a lady should be treated! Then walks around my car and opens the door for my mom. Whoever you are ( wish I had asked your name) I want you to know that you are the MODEL of what all men should be like. It wasn't just the door but also your sincere character and sweetness while doing it. Will never forget you "mystery gentleman".

I would like to send a big thank you to all of the nurses in the ER at Hotel Dieu. My daughter broke her wrist yesterday and was in a great deal of pain. From the triage nurse to the young woman who transported my daughter to Xray, every nurse was understanding of her pain and did their best to keep mind off of her predicament. A nurse that had worked as a clown in his youth made her the wonderful balloon flower pictured (she was sure it would pop before we got home and wanted to remember it) and her attending nurse was especially understanding, patient and knew just what to do when the idea of an IV caused a meltdown accomplishing her task quickly and efficiently. Thank you to everyone on shift yesterday from 8pm to midnight. The nurses clearly had a lot to do and not a lot of time but they did it well. Special thank you to the nurses monitoring Critical Care bed 5. I'm sorry for not getting your names. You made this bad situation as much a positive experience as possible for the young lady and that was a great comfort to this very worried mom.

To the guy going north on Dougall Ave today during rush hour traffic with your German Shepherd riding in the back of your pick up :I'm worried about your dog. If this is a regular occurrence for you to ride around the city this way, you need to have a little bit more education on what could happen to him if someone rear ended you or cut you off. He would be thrown into traffic and would end up with serious injuries or dead. After I told you to let him ride in the double cab (there's plenty of room), you cut me off and threw your dog right off balance. Shame on you. Animal control has been notified to keep an eye out for you.

To the dad walking with his wife, two young daughters and puppy walking in Penalty Box parking lot Friday evening around 5:30pm. Shame on you! I sat in my car with the windows down and heard you loudly tell your child how f*%#ing annoying she was for whinning. Not only is that a disgusting way to talk to any child, no more than 4 or 5, let alone your OWN child. I was sad to see your wife not even bat an eye as you shouted this for all to hear. Makes me wonder what goes on behind closed doors? I'm a parent too, and I understand what it's like to raise young girls but I could never speak like that to them. I'm sure you would be furious if another person, potential boyfriend or friend talked to them that way. You are teaching them that behaviour is acceptable. So, you sir, have been spotted! Time to shape up!

The city, in its infinite wisdom, has closed off south bound Pillette at Tecumseh Rd. because of construction on Tecumseh Rd. E. between Pillette and Westminister. There is no construction on Pillette, but no thru traffic is allowed. Left turns only...into the parking lot that is now Tecumseh Rd. Yesterday I saw a tow truck sit through 3 lights and still he couldn't turn.
