A big thanks

My daughter Tatum started a campaign called Small gift, big difference last year and collected winter accessories for the needy.. Last year she collected almost 400 items..This year she started her campaign in October and with the generosity of people near and far, she collected almost 700 winter accessories that will be donated this week to Street Help/ Unit 7 and Hiatus House. She wanted me to thank everyone that donated to her Christmas campaign .. Together we will make this winter a little warmer for those in need.

Shop local

If you're like me, you follow Spotted in Windsor and have noticed that a large portion of shopping sightings take place at Walmart. This holiday season I ask you all to support local shops. Skip Walmart and invest in our community. There are many hardworking business owners in town and they deserve our support. Merry Christmas to you all, no matter where you choose to shop.

Stolen wallet

I am going to take a long shot here! Last December 6, 2013 I was grocery shopping at the Zehrs at Parkway. I was in the self check-out. As this was the first time with the PC points I changed up my habits and pulled my wallet out off my purse at the beginning of the check out where I usually do not pull it out till I pay at the end. I did not put it all the way back in my purse and when I was having an issue checking out my produce a woman walked by and grabbed it. I noticed just a few seconds later and tried to stop her but she was gone out of sight too fast. I think she had someone waiting for her out side in a car. Anyways, I did not care about the money as I don't carry any (only a little for emergencies) and the credit/ debit cards were cancelled before I left the store. What I cared about were the keepsakes that are lost for ever now. A picture of my mom and dad (who died 8 years ago) from the 1950 CNE. A note from my husband he put in my lunch telling me how much he loved me and to have a nice day at work from 20 years ago. A small white Bible with just Psalms my Nana gave me in when she died in 1965. That was the saddest of all cause I carried that with me since the early 70's when I found a poem in a magazine written by a girl who committed suicide. It was a take off of the Psalm "The Lord is my Shepard". It was call "King Heroin is my Shepard". I never got into drugs because of that. I could go on with the other things in there but this is making me sad....again. It all was in a rather large black wallet with sippers. I now do not carry anything of sentimental value any more. I learned my lesson the hard way. If by any chance anyone ever finds it please post and lets get together. Also no questions asked! I wish to just get my stuff back. Merry Christmas everyone!

Really Canada Post?

My 7 year old daughter happily received her letter back from Santa...the personalized P.S. however was anything it should have been. Completely Unacceptble. To the person who wrote it, if you were having a bad day, I am sorry, but you should have went home.

Over reacting in drive thru

Today at the Tim Hortons on Manning I accidentally cut off a young man in a pick up truck, I didn't realize you were in line as there was two car lengths in front and I was trying to move so the car behind could turn right. I realized after my mistake when you laid on the horn behind me and reved your engine and accelerated towards me. But thank you for scaring my young children in the car, thank you for yelling at me as I placed my order and again as I picked my order up, and I paid for your large coffee to show I was sorry.

At the end of the dayi was a few seconds ahead of you, think about your actions,is it really worth intimidating someone over a cup of coffee. I hope you were just having a bad day and that it turned around.

Thank you to kind gentleman

I was at Hotel Dieu this morning waiting for a test. I sat and talked to a kind gentleman that took my mind off of what was coming. His name (I believe, was Ken) We talked about the vegetarian diet and just had a nice conversation. I wanted to say that I hope your test came back ok and that I am thinking and praying for you. You actually reminded me of my dad and that felt good because I miss him. I hope all is well with you. Thank you for the conversation.

Older gentle dog found

Older gentle dog found on Kildare this afternoon around 430pm. She is approximately 10 years old and has what looks like a tumor or lump on her belly. She is so gentle. She is safe at the humane society as well as up on their site. I hope her owner is found soon
