Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
Thank you to the guy in the truck this morning at Timmies on Jefferson for purchasing my coffee. It was unexpected and it brought a smile to my face. Pay it Forward:)
Sept 10th i saw a large tan male dog with a red collar running in traffic on Howard. He ran off into the subdivision by the medical building. I want to apologize to the owners I parked and ran for 20 mins to catch him. I tried my best and I had him for a moment but he bolted from me and i lost him. I just hope he is safe. Someone said he was from a home off 600 Ypres. I hope someone can let me know because I felt terrible losing him!
On labor Monday, I decided to clean my bus for the big day, next day first day of school. I was feeling hot and my asthma kicked in, I started feeling sick so I packed up my van. I was in a hurry to get out of the heat and I locked my keys in my van with everything in it but a timmies iced coffee that became warm.
I was hot I could not breath, I wore a black shirt in the hot sun which didn't help me keep cool. I could barely walk across the street. I tried flagging people down. Maybe 10 cars drove by and about 10 minutes went by, I thought I was going to pass out. Then a blond lady in a black suv pulled over with her daughter asked if I was OK I answered no and told her what happened. I asked for a ride to Timmie's so I could cool down, with out hesitation she said yes get in and she let me use her phone. You were my angel sent from above. I almost called an ambulance but felt better as minutes went by.
You will never know I grateful I am to you, when I started to lose hope and trust in people you proved me wrong and for that I can never repay you. You're new friend, just when I thought I should a give up and give in you rescued me. You have been spotted and so very thanked for being a friend in need!!!
A mother in a local park tonight
Stood up for 2 kids getting what appeared to be bullied from other children from their school...
All the smaller innocent children wanted to do is play ... There didn't appear to be that much age difference
They were excluded clearly
When asked "can we play " they replied ummmmm no...
The mother stood up and yelled to the older kids. Are you kidding me? Really, they just want to play!
I think that embarrassed the older children they walked away...
Kudos to the mother who did not leave the park letting the big kids win and allowing her kid to stay and enjoy the park to. No kid deserves to be left out , but it's a big park lots to do. She didn't allow the big kids to spoil her kids time at park. If you walked away from park embarrassed because you raised your voice mom don't be, hold your head high those kids need a lesson in manners . You did good for stepping in. Hope you read this, you deserve a standing ovation. You are gutsy in a good way! If I see you at park I will introduce myself ... You are a good soul bless you...
I've never done this but I was at winners today and saw a blue ceramic elephant I was going to buy it but I didn't and regret it, I went back to purchase it but it was gone, if anyone out there bought it and would part with it I would love buy it.please please please...thank you.
On September 1, 2015 fines were increased for Ontario drivers. One of the new rules states that drivers are required to leave at least 100 metres while passing cyclists. I am not disagreeing with this rule and have always given cyclists room. However I believe that cyclists should take more responsiblity for their lives and follow the rules of the road.
I was drivng south down Matchette Road last night and noticed two cyclists on the right hand side. (Truthfully not sure how I saw them since they didn't have lights). The car in front of me proceeded to give them their space when it was safe to do so and got out of their way. The cyclists then immediately turned left in front of the car. That car was probably picking up a little speed to pass them and missed them by a few inches.
It is my opinion that the driver of the car was driving responsibly. If he/ she hit those cyclists the driver would probably have felt guilty even though it was clearly the cyclists fault.
I am thankful that the cyclists are OK and also thankful that the driver was paying attention.
Even though the law has changed, cyclists please pay attention.
Anybody in the east end of the city missing a leaf blower? (No joke ... one showed up on my property two days ago.)
To Whom it May Concern:
You stole my pink e-bike out of my back yard in the near downtown arealast night. I am a retired, widowed grandmother and this was my only form of transportation. Not only did you steal my bike, you stole my independence; my ability to shop, attend appointments and visit my friends and family.
Please return my bike no questions asked. It can't possibly be as valuable to you as it is to me.
