Fantastic People!

Last night I went to a Whiskey Tour at the Canadian Club building on Riverside Drive put on by my financial adviser Mike. We had a great time and then left for the night. In the morning as I was trying to book seats on a flight for tomorrow I realized my purse was missing. I had no I.D., no cell phone, no credit cards and I was totally upset .. what could I do on a trip with none of the aforementioned?

I truly thought I had carried it out with the other items I had been carrying but it was nowhere to be found at my house! I started to panic and didn't know what to do. I noticed on Facebook that Mike's assistant Denise was on chat so I messaged her around 6:30 a.m. to get a phone number for Mike. She responded immediately and I called him and his wife Anna and all of them went into action. Denise went into work early, Mike called his daughter who knew the daughter of the lady in charge of the tours and they reached Gail. Gail, bless her heart, went into work early and my purse was there.

If you have ever lost a purse or wallet you can imagine what a panic I was in especially having a vacation planned starting the next day!

I really want to put a huge shout out and send a thank you from the bottom of my heart to Mike, Anna, Denise and Gail for all being such fantastic people and putting themselves out to help me. ... you have all been spotted.

Good Samaritan Returns Wallet

To the gentleman who returned the wallet to the Parks & Recreation office. We are sorry we did not catch your name. We were so in awe that you were returning the wallet especially with the amount of money clearly displayed inside. We hope you have the happiest of holidays this coming season!!

A helping heart

Champs Sports in Devonshire mall has some of the best employee's in Windsor. Here's one that stands out. Sami, a M.I.T at Champs Sports dug deep into his personal pocket and donated socks, shirts and more for the refugees anticipated to come to Windsor. His dedication and compassion deserves some much needed recognition. Way to go Sami.

Superhero Takeover...spectacular!

i have been meaning to post this for months now....better late then never!

I took my son and daughter to the Superhero Takeover back in October. I frequently go to "kid friendly" events around the city and I must say by far this is one of the most organized events we have been to. What a great concept, lots of room for the kids to run around, tons of activities that are worth way more then the price of the ticket. Not one time did we have to wait to do an activity. The volunteers were so great with my children. Running an event for kids is difficult, there must have been over 150 of them running around. Hats off to the organizers of this. We look forward to going next year. Thank you for doing this fun event for the kids.

Found 2 dogs!!!

One is a Boston/ pug mix(I'm guessing) male about 25 pounds, the other is a beagle mix about 20 pounds female. They were left in our yard today, unsure who left them. We hope to find their owners but we unfortunately can't keep them at our house so we have to bring them to the humane society. Which is terrible because they will get separated :( they are so sweet!!

Family Heirloom Quilt

We are hoping that the kind and wonderful people of the Windsor and Essex County area may be able to help us locate a very special blanket that may have been donated in error. This quilt contains family photos (some of whom are no longer with us), and is on a black background. The quilt belongs to my Pepe and contains photos of my Meme who passed away this year. This will be our very first Christmas without her loving hugs. We are desperately searching for the blanket in the hopes that we can get this beautiful memory back to him. It was last seen in Tilbury (Lakeshore) and would have been donated to the Goodwill or the Canadian Diabetes Association in the Tilbury or Chatham area. If anyone happens to see this beautiful quilt while they are out during this very busy season, please contact me at any time at jessica.gerard1976@hotmail.com. Our family can't express the gratitude and appreciation enough for all the efforts thus far. We are truly hopeful that this piece will be found. Thank you all, and have a blessed Holiday Season!
