Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I took my kids for a bike ride earlier this afternoon. We crossed paths with a sweet lady walking a dog. She stopped to talk to me and told me that she is here visiting her son and that she lives in the UK. She told me how lovely it was to talk to me and that she is used to people stopping and talking to each other in her village in Northern England. She was walking her son's adorable dog, Ozzy. I don't know if she will see this, but to June, thank you for making my afternoon and for the warm hug and taking the time to talk to a complete stranger. You are such a lovely person and you really made my day :) I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here in Canada and have a safe trip back to the UK :)a
I witnessed a female LTC operator on the 26 Jalna Blvd. run today assist an elderly lady to get the 6 Richmond bus. She sent a text message to the other operator while she was stopped since the bus was driving away. Not only did she stop at the Richmond and Dundas traffic light to pick her up but she drove her to Richmond and York where she could get the 6 Richmond even though the driver honked her horn to the other driver in the beginning. I wanted to say kudos to her and the male transit operator for picking up this elderly lady because she needed to get to the hospital.
London has some compassionate people just like Windsor. Good job people.

I would like to extend a sincere, heartfelt thanks to the staff at Real Canadian Superstore on Dougall Rd for having a BBQ today with proceeds going towards Autism Services Inc. Annual Pasta Fundraiser that will be held on May 2nd at the Fogolar. This fundraiser is to help support the Bruce Awad Summer Program for Individuals with Autism. Kudos to Real Canadian Super Store and staff in their generous efforts to help individuals with autism in our community! They're an amazing group of people that deserve recognition!
You have the most amazing staff! Thank you from the owner of the fast made sprinkle donut! Even when you had none! We avoided nuclear meltdown, and you have one happy kid. Sprinkle donuts are his whole world. Thank you drive thru staff!

A thrilled to bits mom.
My 7 year old was frustrated that she wasn't improving on her roller blades (only second day out) and begged me to ask the group of kids (mid to late teens, I think) she'd seen skate into the parking lot to leave. When we got there, they all had their skates off and were sitting on the curb, yet the words were barely out of my mouth when "Jay" jumped up, put on his roller blades, again, and came right over to her. He was energetic, patient and encouraging. His friends cheered them on, and in about 10 minutes she was actually doing it! Thank you so much, Jay, and friends. You definitely made her day, and therefore, mine!
I found this poor cat that is someones because it came right to me looking to come inside, lets get it back home soon. Found on Sandwich Street near Mill she looks like a Bengal?
Last night, I lost my phone in a Vets Cab and I thought for sure someone had stolen it. I kept calling it from my friends phone hoping that someone would find it and answer. At 5 am, Sam, a cab driver called back from my phone and said that he had it and that he would meet me tomorrow with it and keep it safe until then. The next day he brought my phone to me, in his cab, on his own time. This doesn't happen too often these days, and this act of kindness encouraged me to go out of my way to help someone/ do something nice to someone to pay it forward. Sam the cab driver needs to be recognized for his hard work and get a promotion or something because Windsor needs trustworthy workers like this!
