Friday December 20th, I was with 2 friends and 6 kids in total at hijinks. They had a bouncy house for the kids to enjoy. I was watching 3 x 3yr olds and a 4yr old in my care inside the bouncy house, and there was a boy of about 9 in there as well. He was rough housing one of the 3yr olds in my care, and I warned him 3 or 4 times to take it easy, be careful, etc. Then 2 other boys of around 10 got in there and were jumping around, knocking the little kids over. Then the 9yr old jumped on the 3yr old as he fell down, and I lost it. Yelled at him really loud, told him that's enough, I'm tired of him playing rough with 3yr olds, etc. I didn't really think, I just reacted. Apparently I yelled so loud that my friends said the place went silent. This boy did not cry or say anything to me, I think I surprised him. A few minutes later he left the bouncy house and went playing somewhere else. Fast forward 30minutes: the kids moms friend came over trying to pick a fight with me INSIDE A CHILDREN'S PLAYSPACE, saying I should have talked to them and not yelled at her friends kid. Well, sure logically that's what any reasonable person would do, IF YOU WERE SUPERVISING YOUR KIDS and were there for me to even know who you are! Also should we not be setting an example for our children on conflict resolution, and you trying to start a fight with a stranger, threatening to make my kids cry is not setting a very good example. I however kept my cool, simply told her what happened and that she should do us all a favour and watch her kids. She said 'yeah well my friend has 4 kids!' And your point is?? So you have 4 kids lady, great for you. One day they will be 4 adults and god help us all.
Just because its an indoor playspace, does NOT mean you don't have to supervise your children. Hijinks staff are not babysitters.
Am I sorry I yelled at your kid for playing rough and not listening when being told to take it easy? NO. Am I a little ashamed for Yelling extremely loud? YES
The lesson here parents is please supervise your children, no matter where you are. If you can't see them, get up off your a$$, put down your tablet and coffee, and make sure they are ok and not harming anyone else's children.

Signed, a mom who is not sorry for disciplining your child, who seemed a little unruly and could use some discipline.
