To the woman we encountered today walking down Tecumseh Rd at Francois. I was out for a run with my dog and you asked if I had water for him. I said no but that we were a block away from home. You continued by insulting me and commenting on how I treat my dog. How can you really do this? You don't know how far we have run, how many stops we have taken, when the last time he had a drink was. You know none of this. You don't know that he has run in temperatures from -20 to +35 degrees all without having anything go wrong with him because we know how to do this in a safe way. You don't know that he can easily run a 10k, rest for 20 minutes and then do it all again. You don't know any of this so how can you make comments about something you do not know? I have chosen a healthy (and safe) lifestyle for myself and my best friend. Maybe that is the part of this that you don't understand.
to the "lady" talking on the phone while driving your big black Escalade through Shoppers Drugmart parking lot in Belle River heading to the bank...Tonight just after 7pm You almost hit us! Do you know talking on a cell while driving is illegal? Or are you above the law? Put your phone down and keep those of us on the road safe. Or hey! How about keep the phone off while driving!!
To the person who almost hit me and my husband in our car today on Lauzon and Tecumseh intersection: just wow. You went through a red light SPEEDING through the intersection while me and my husband were making a left turn. My husband went as you sped by us and WE had to break for you. Honestly, I've never been so scared in my life. I'm currently expecting my first son, and it left me crying all the way to the mall because I was so frightened. If you were to hit my side of the car (which is what would of happened), I don't know if I would of survived that since you were going ridiculously fast. My husband had to calm me down before we stepped in the mall. I just wanted you to know that you've been spotted and I hope you realize that you really really upset us, not only that you were being a jerk and going through a light, but because of what could of happened to me, my unborn son and my family. Just made me realize how lucky I am, and how careless drivers can be.
I was passing by the airport when I noticed many police cars and paramedics closing the road. Many teenagers were sitting on the shoulders of the road and others were walking .When I passed by the ambulance I saw a person was carried by the paramedics..Cops were talking to parents on one side of the road
Last night my motorcycle was stolen from in front of my house. It is a black 2000 Yamaha r6 black rear sets and black clip on bars. Whoever stole it is probably highly disappointed because there is nothing of value on this bike. The bike engine 79,000 km on it needs a new chain sprockets fairings. If u could could keep an eye out for this bike it would be greatly appreciated.
To the young lady in the red convertible around 1030 this morning on county rd 11u were waiting to cross over with your head down u inched up i waa not sure if u saw me after i passes u i looked in my review mirror and u crossed with your head down oblivious ro anything going on around u
After the senseless tragedy on the expressway the other night u would hope people would take notice
All i have to say is i saw u and put the phone down stupid !!!!!
I may be old fashioned however I still think that there is a time and a place for manners to kick in. Tonight, while at Dollarama, standing in line , there was a woman ahead of us. She was talking on her cell phone. So loud that everyone within ear shot could hear her. There was no eavesdropping required. I will not repeat verbatim what her side of the conversation was, but I will say all she bought was some candy bars. I and others in line thought this was very rude of her. Not only did we hear her side of the conversation, but when it was her turn at the till, she continued to have her conversation with unknown party on the other end of the line. The poor cashier was so disrespected by this woman. Yes that is disrespect when you cannot even bother to end a call in order to talk to another person handling your purchases.
To my way of thinking, if said party called her, while she was in the store she could have said that she was busy and would call them back. If she made the call, there are other places she could have done that. The entire store does not want to hear your personal conversations. Just because a cell phone is portable does not mean that you need to carry on a conversation where ever you happen to be. People do it in the banks, at the doctors, where ever they happen to be. I am grateful that the conversation was not about sex, and yes I have heard one sided conversations about that in public. If you do not want the entire world to know what you are talking about, who you are talking about, or what activities you are planning or not, don't hold a private conversation in public. That is what your home is for!
Hello,
I am starting this petition to discuss the recent closure of the basketball courts at St. Joseph's High School. As a former student of St. Joseph's. I have always enjoyed being able to play basketball at the courts, alongside many others since the school was first built in 2006. We have been spending our afternoons doing this for nearly 9 years and up until now there has never been a problem nor complaint.
There are now locks on the doors and a security guard making sure no body enters the courts. Also the school board telling us that we need to rent these grounds from here on out if we are to play at these courts. We am formulating this petition in efforts to reopen the basketball court to the community.
I have not seen any other basketball courts around the city being locked up like this. I think you could agree with me here that if someone were to rent out a space to play basketball, it would be a gymnasium. The school board has indicated to us that the soccer field at St. Joe's HS which is on the same property the basketball court is "rented". I have approached the friendly people that partake in soccer practices a couple times a week that have also been there for a few years to find out if they pay any kind of rental fee to use the track/ soccer field, and they stated that they did not.
The courts are small as it is, and do not even have proper netting on the rims. Only 1 out of 6 nets have mesh that we have personally put up, not the school board. All of us here at the courts have also maintained and respected the grounds and cleaned up all garbage. Making people pay for this court seems a bit extreme. Especially after so many years. We don't know what seems to be the problem. Many other guys alongside myself are only trying to live a healthy lifestyle by playing basketball somewhere near our homes, and feel this closure is discouraging this.
As most of us are former students of the school and residents of the area, we would like to continue to be able to play basketball where we always have. We now ask you of your time to please sign our petition so we can forward this to the school board in efforts of re-opening the courts to the community as it always has been.
We thank you in advance,
Fellas from the basketball courts at St. Joe's
