To the young lady that was being cornered by that guy in Everest College parking lot on Pelissier at 12:25am. I'm glad you got away! I ran outside because I heard you screaming but seen that 2 other gentleman were already coming to see what happened. I don't know the story but I hope you are okay! And thank you to the 2 men that helped that young lady.

I live near the expressway and I like to walk around my neighbourhood. Please when exiting the expressway look both ways before you turn right. No one looks in the crosswalks. I am very mindful of traffic and only move from the crosswalk when the light tells me I can. The other day I had the right of way to go and a man stopped at the ramp, looked left and almost hit me. If not for his wife on the passenger seat he wouldn't have known I was there at all . He had to duck around the things hanging from his rear view mirror to see me. Then he started yelling at me for being there. I try to make eye contact with all drivers so I know I'm seen. I want everyone to know I understand if your in a rush to get from your A to B, but there could be a person walking to get back to their family. Take two seconds, you may prevent an accident where only one of you is protected by steel and plastic.

I had to laugh today when I arrived at the superstore on Dougall. Saw this car with the sticker that said I love my Honda. I guess the owner lived it so much that they needed two parking spots

For residents around Ottawa Street, there are people going door to door claiming to be from the province, and ask for access to your backyard or home to finish a "safety check" These people are scam artists. The company they said they represented was "Ontario Energy Group" or OEG with lots of branding on clothes and hats. EOG has nothing to do with the Ontario government.
All in the course of a single pitch, that his company was working with home-owners in the area. Then they were doing inspections on behalf of the province. Then finally he said that energy efficiency standards had changed and based on the exterior pipes he could see protruding from the side of our house, he could tell we did not have energy-efficient equipment heating our home. When we told him he was representing a scam, he protested and claimed his business was accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I looked his company up on the BBB site not only were they not accredited, they have been in existence for less than a year. The BBB listed the name of the CEO and indicated the company had only that single employee which is how the listing remains the last time I checked it. By the way, an earlier version of this blog post provided a hyperlink to the Linkedin profile of the BBB-listed CEO showing that he d gone from new university grad to Sales Executive to Director of Marketing to CEO of his own (scam) company in less than four years. Now that s entrepreneurial! The CEO has since removed that level of detail from his public profile. Hmm, wonder why?
The Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services maintains a Beware List of shady businesses that have been reported to them. They have a list of over twenty names doing business in the water heater industry that are scams. Several of them have the same name located at different addresses. The same sort of result appears when you search for furnace scams. That s great info when you re looking up companies online that you may want to do business with be sure to check them out first. But even if the company does not appear on the Beware List, don t let them in your door or share any info with them. Note also that the Competition Bureau of Canada has gone after several door-to-door water heater sales companies for their anti-competitive policies and practices. Reliance and Enercare (formerly Direct Energy) have agreed to settle out of court for millions of dollars. Don t worry, I m sure they consider that the price of doing business.

To the lady who locked her dog in her hot car at Fabricland parking lot this afternoon, and went shopping for a half hour. I could hear the poor dog crying and you barely had one window open about two inches, You don't deserve to have a dog, or any pet for that matter!! Our pets are like our kids you don't just lock them in the car and go shopping!!! Yes the police were called I hope you learned your lesson today!!!

Last night my friends car was broken into behind my house on hall and assumtion. They stole my longboard it's a GLOBE 41" yellow and black with lots of stickers. this is my only way around town and there is a reward is returned no questions. The Ontario Energy Group going door-to-door in the South Walkerville area. Do NOT let them in your home. They are a scam. They are not from the province, they are a private company that will give you misinformation to trick you into buying a new AC unit or furnace.

I was very surprised at this because generally I find the drivers here very very courteous but there's always one.
Being from Florida no one is courteous down there so it's a refreshing change but.
I was westbound on E.C.Row and turning left at Manning road with an SUV in front of me. The arrow turned green but it took a second for the SUV to make the turn but this young punk behind me laid on his horn and I pointed at the car in front of me and as I did that he flipped me the bird.
He tailgates me all the way up Manning to #42.
It was funny though because I could hear the booming of his radio so the radio had more power than his little 4 cylinder Toyota Corolla
