Hit and run on Howard

Tonight between 6:15 and 6:20, a black pickup truck hit me and drove off. I was heading north on Howard Ave, right before Irvine street. Basically right before the Howard & Tecumseh intersection. He was attempting to merge into the right lane (in a hurry, as his tires were squeeling). He nailed the entire side of my car, didn't even break, and sped off to turn right onto Tecumseh Rd. If anyone was there when this happened and got the license plate, please let me know. Or if anyone sees an older model black pickup truck with damage to the passengers side, or with gold paint transfer, also let me know.

Hit & Run

Tuesday December 6 at 11:35 a.m. I was hit on Albert & Milloy. The lady that hit my car causing me to spin out had ran a stop sign. At least she had the decency to get out of her car and ask if myself and my fiancee were OK, once I started call 911 ( my car was not drivable) she took off in her car leaving only her front license plate behind. Turns out stolen plates. If anyone see a silver Nissan Altima newer model with damage to front end on her passenger side as well as missing the plastic piece to hold up license plate please call the police. The driver was a 24-30 year old female. Not only did she hit & run but caused some back pain in both our backs for driving so fast. I hope the police find you. Shame on you leaving me with nothing but headaches, and no car to get to my full time job.

RIP Elana Fric-Shamji

I read in this article that Elana Fric-Shamji was murdered by her husband Mohammed Shamji. Since I read she was Tecumseh, Ontario, I just wanted to say RIP to her and people will also have the opportunity to donate to a Trust Fund.

I hope her husband gets the maximum jail sentence with no chance of parole.

RIP, my thought and prayers are with you.

Be patient. Be polite.

Public service announcement.
I understand that it's the holiday season and traffic is heavier than usual. Please have patience and drive safe, and if someone is kind enough to let you merge, please wave as a thank you. I am constantly letting people in and getting no thanks. It takes a second to show appreciation. I'm ready to stop doing so if it isn't acknowledged anymore. We are all in a rush, but it's simple manners.

The Grinch of Downtown Windsor

Last night when I went to turn on the fancy kaleidoscope christmas lightbulb my sister had excitedly purchased for our front porch on Erie Street West, I realized it was gone.

It was stolen.

Someone came up onto our porch during the night and stole our christmas light.

This might not seem like a big deal, but my sister and her family just moved back to Windsor after living in Calgary for the last 10 years. They came back to Windsor for a simple reason: they love it here.
They actually love it here. I'd like them to KEEP loving it here.
My nephew, who is turning 10 this year, is celebrating his first christmas in Windsor and I'm struggling to reassure him and his parents that Downtown is a fun, vibrant, and safe place to live when people are literally coming up to our doors and stealing our christmas decorations! I didn't think the common downtown "joke" of if "if you don't lock it, they will steal it" applied to lightbulbs. I'll be sure to lock the rest of mine up for safety.
(This is truly heinous and if you did it and you're reading this, I hope the bulb burns out on the first go!)

Please, if you're just some drunken idiot kid please bring back our christmas light. If your friend is a drunken idiot kid who stole a christmas light, make them return it. In general let's all, as downtown residents, look out for each other this holiday season. Incidents like this are what convince people to leave windsor, and they certainly do Downtown NO favours. Hold your friends and neighbours accountable so everyone can have a nice holiday.

Happy Holidays, Downtown Windsor, watch out for The Grinch.

Shame

At Wendy's this afternoon management held a meeting with an employee in the dining area. This man (I think was from head. Office) spoke very loud and had the employee in tears. We were only 2 tables away. On departure we stopped and told the man that it was terrible to do this to anyone and meetings should be held at the back. Also another guest also voiced his displeasure. Wendy's should change their policy .

Thief in the area

Keep a watch for a person on smaller sized bike on College area near Felix and Brock. Monday at approximately 4:30pm. Stole two boxes from porch and raided my mailbox. Wearing a hooded two tone coat. Got you on two cameras and have given to police. You have ruined Christmas for my family. Return items and will withdraw any charges when you are found.
