Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the silver pick up truck, 2 dr, with green monster energy decals, who saw our funeral procession leaving Most Precious Blood Church on Tecumseh road this past Tuesday February 20th at approximately 11:15 am in the pouring ugly rainy weather. People were not stopping to let everyone out, so this guy pulled across both of the westbound lanes and "helped" hold traffic back until we all got out and in line. It was my first time in a procession and I have to say, there are a LOT of people who need to be educated in what the proper etiquette is for a funeral procession. This guy definitely did not have to do that, and he was not a part of our funeral or anyone that we knew, but THANK YOU...from myself and the family (who were just in awe when I told them!)
Local young band volunteer their time in fundraisers in the Windsor area and have helped raised thousands of dollars for local charities and events in our community. They have recently performed in the Rock for Dimes Windsor 2018 Battle of the Bands, a March of Dimes Canada event, and won the competition!
Would like to thank the paramedics that came to my house February 17, 2018 to help with my 6week old who was having breathing issues. They helped me remain calm, reassured this panicked mama, and even got me to smile and relax during a very scary time. In the craziness of it all I dont remember their names, but would like to acknowledge how amazing they were. Also to the nurses and doctors in emerge and on the paediatric floor who did an amazing job woth my daughter and again helped calm and reassure this very worried mama.
Truly grateful for all of you who helped last night.
Spotted asked if this is a "good spotting" or a "bad spotting". Well I guess it is both!
I want to thank a wonderful person for organizing a much needed fund raiser for my mother! The response has been overwhelming and definately shows that there are so many caring people out there! It's just so unfortunate that a fundraiser is needed though...
My mom's 22 year old car was stolen in December from a geared to income senior building handicapped parking spot! The repairs were just under $500 so instead of opting for a rental car and going with insurance she paid the $470 to fix it. She got it back 2 weeks later. Well a month & 2 days after it was stolen, it got stolen again! This time repairs were more so she went through insurance who ended up writing the vehicle off. The value was a whopping $904 less her $500 deductible so they paid her $404! She just paid $470 weeks earlier so it ended up costing her $ and she is without a vehicle! Her vehicle is her independence. It is her form of freedom! These theives have caused so much stress and heartbreak for my 78 year old mother.
Thankfully a fundraiser is set in place to try to help her purchase a new vehicle. She isn't looking for much. Just something that can get her from point a to point b. She was used to her 22 year old Dodge neon.
There is the email for the fundraiser in the windsor star ad I've attached the link to in case anyone wants to help out. They are taking donations Til the end of February.
Thanks to all the kind hearts who care and have sent well wishes and donations. To the thieves who stole her old car 2 times in a month... I hope you have seen this and feel shame!!!
I just wanted to say thank you to Jelena who works at JYSK. I had gone in with my 8 week old who was sleeping in her car seat/ stroller and needed an extra hand carrying the merchandise I purchased. She was working the cash area and went out of her way to carry my purchases/ load them into the shopping cart and bring them to my car. It can be hard shopping with kids and Jelena went out of her way to accommodate us. You rock!!!
Driving up to the hospital today and this happened, saw a wheel chair bound man struggling with a shovel trying to clear the ice slush at the crosswalk ramp at McDouggall and Erie, doing this from his wheel chair, I decided to pull over and help him as I watched him struggle. As I got out this man seen here in the picture had seen the same and beat me to his assistance!! Bravo! He told me his name and I don't feel confident posting it as I am not 100% sure I remember it correct. I know he said he worked for CS wind and is laid off right now.
The world needs more decent human people like him.
I just want to wish the 71 year old Windsor star delivery driver a speedy recovery. He slipped on ice while delivering the paper in Amherstburg on February 13th, 2018. He broke his hip, but that didn't stop him from continuing his route by throwing the papers on the driveway instead of delivering to the porch before heading to the ER to be checked. This shows incredible dedication to his job and those who look forward to their paper. Sir, you have been spotted and we wish you a speedy recovery.
To the man who saved my 15 year old daughter at the tim hortons on howard near the mall and got her home safe.
My daughter was being harrassed and treated horribly by 2 men outside of tim hortons on howard because she would not talk or give them her number. She was simply waiting for her brother to get off work and pick her up at the tim hortons. The 2 men brought my daughter to tears and would not leave her alone, even went as far as grabbing her by the arm. When a gentlemen coming out of tim hortons spotted my daughter crying and took matters into his own hands. He confronted the 2 men and scared them off, then kindly stayed with my daughter and calmed her down until a cab arrived, he paid for her cab and she got home safely.
The man introtuced himself to my daughter as Corey, she said he had on a grey hat, blue dress shirt, nice watch, grey jeans and boots.
Me and my husband can NOT thank you enough, you are an amazing human being, and would LOVE to invite you for dinner to say thank you if we are able to locate you !
