A Little Wave Goes a Long Way

I was chaperoning a field trip to St. Clair College, on the school bus back, a group of the students wanted to wave to people to get waves, and cheer people up. I would like to say thank you to the 28 people who waved, honked, or flashed their lights, along the way when it was safe to do so (at lights behind or beside the school bus).

The small gestures of kindness and happiness back made their day (and mine) brighter.

my 3 boys and I got into an car accident on june 8th. I wont bore you with the details but there was so many people that came to our aid the paramedics police and firefighters where absoultley amazing and so comforting. There were so many bystander that helped us. There was one woman that stood out she helped me get my kids out of the car seat with them kept them calm and kept making sure we were ok. All I know is her name is Katie, but she was truley an angel to us that day. So thank you so much katie you truly did more for us than I can say

Tony the Windsor Star delivery guy!!

I want to send a HUGE thank you to Tony who delivers the Windsor Star to the 1700 block of Chilver. My 92 year grandmother always says what an amazing job you do and how lucky she is to have you deliver her paper. You take the extra time/ extra steps to always walk directly up to the door and put her newspaper in between the screendoor and main door. This is extremely appreciated during the winter months , you have saved her from stepping out in the cold every morning to get her paper. It is truly VIP service and is much appreciated by her and her family.

Please tag Tony if you know him!!

Motorcycle accident

Yesterday, June 4th, I was involved in a motorcycle accident (I was the rider) at the corner of Tecumseh at McDougall. I wanted to say thank you to all those people that stopped to help, blocked traffic to keep me safe, called my wife and contacted EMS right away.

I'd also like to say special heartfelt "THANK YOU's" to the following people as they were the ones who I spoke with, although it was only briefly. The man who was the first person to get to me, gave me reassurance, contacted my wife and initially controlled the scene.
Nurse Kevin who was there to keep me from moving and ensured I wasn't further injured. The lady who was holding my hand and giving me reassurances while waiting for EMS to arrive.

I didn't get the names of those who stopped to help, (sorry but my mind was elsewhere at the time) but I wanted to recognize them.
I'd appreciate it if you'd reach out to me and leave your name and phone # (my email is lumpy908@gmail.com) so I can say thanks properly.

Also, thank you to those who stopped and helped that I wasn't aware of, and of course to the EMS folks. I really appreciate what you all did.

And last, but not least, anyone who witnessed it, please get in touch at the email above as well.

Helping a Veteran

Tuesday my dad Wayne Hillman ( a Vietnam Veteran) was at Heavenly Rest Cemetery placing flags at all the Veterans plots. It was so hot out, and I told my dad before he left to make sure he took some water for himself. As he was placing the flags he saw a family drive by and turn around. A young mother and her children got out and asked what he was doing and if they could help. These children are all homeschooled and interact with their community while on field trips. This is responsible parenting and these children asked many questions about the Veterans buried there. I want to thank you for the bottom of my heart for taking the time to help place these flag on the veterans plots, and also for giving my dad some cool water bottles that you had with you. This is a huge shout out to a wonderful mom who is raising her children with great respect. You should be PROUD. Thank you to Mercedez, Tanner and Jillian.

Red pickup in Tim Hortons with the 10 billion stickers :)

I know you might have not thought twice about paying for my order this afternoon but I cannot tell you how much I appreciated it! I am currently 9 months pregnant and this heat has been destroying me and my dog ... our daily trips out consist of us going to Tim Hortons for a frozen lemonade and Tim bits then coming straight home. I was so shocked when I got to the window that I kept trying to pay the guy was like no he already paid!

I REALLLLLLLY APPRECIATE YOU!
Thank you!
