Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
So I was reading posts from the day on good ol Facebook.... Selfies, complaints, links, sarcastic sayings ect when I came across this story from my cousin. From what I gathered he was going to investigate complaints made about this house (he works for the city) with 4ft tall weeds, garbage all over the yard, basement windows open for any ol critter to climb in... Just nastiness. Naturally he thought this house was vacant & abandoned so went to put a notice on the door. He knocked & 2 kids came to the door about 6-7yrs followed by their mother. The mother asked why the city hasn't picked up any of her garbage, my cousin proceeded to inform her off the new bylaw concerning the garbage containers. Afterwards embarrassed she said she wasn't aware of this because she had no Internet or t.v in her home anymore. My cousin seeing the condition of the home, yard, woman, kids then went to McDonalds, bought $40 worth of food & handed it to the kids who answered the door n told him it was a treat & left before the mother could come to the door.
This act of kindness should happen more often. Pay it forward people... My cousin sure did. You've been spotted Todd Hamilton #payitforward #spottedinwindsor #mcdonalds

You were at the river with your kids. Your son threw the ball and it accidently hit your daughter on the head and he rushed over to tell her he was sorry he just over threw it. He was maybe 7-8 and your daughter was maybe 6. Your daughter was crying and you went over to calm her down. You sat down next to her and explained what happened and why she should forgive her brother. Simply the way you talked to her to calm her down was so inspiring. It's been so long since I've seen something so sweet. You looked like such a bad boy with your tattoos, beard and over 6feet big man(im not judging just pointing it out) and to see you sit on the ground with your daughter was so adorable. You called your son over and asked him what he would do if someone hit him with a ball so he would understand why your daughter said "I hate you" it was an initial reaction. Your son understood and said he was sorry and your daughter stood up and gave him a hug and said I love you to her brother. That moment alone made me and my 72 year old husband smile. We came home and he raced to the phone to call our daughters to tell them how amazing he felt just witnessing that whole thing. Anyways, you sir were amazing and incase you wondered why I walked up to you to give you a hug and my husband gave you a high five. We said good parenting, and you thanked us and smiled. You have some lucky children. #SpottedinWindsor #Parenting #Riverside #mademyday #Smiles
My husband and I were at the Max on Campbell and College around 1pm today, Aug 7, 2014. I was looking out the window while he pumped the gas. I spotted a woman wearing blue shorts and a white tank top walking a white dog. Nothing out of the ordinary right? She walked along with her water bottle when the dog stopped and looked up at her. She uncapped the water bottle and gave the dog a nice drink of water!! It wasn't her water, it was for the dog!! You, kind lady, have been spotted!!! #animallover #spottedinwindsor
To the woman who complimented my daughter by saying, "Hello beautiful girl" after my daughter smiled at you at Food Basics downtown, you have no idea how much that made her day! She is just starting to build her confidence and your compliment made her day. Thank you. #kindwords #spottedinwindsor #randomactofkindness
Ambassador Bike in Windsor, you've been spotted!
Today, I brought a Brazilian student who recently arrived in Windsor to your bike shop. As an international student, it is difficult to adjust to the weather, food, and culture, but the hardest adjustment is in the freedom to get around. This young man was extremely happy to be given a discarded bike which was in really rough shape. He asked me where he would go to get it serviced because the seat was unusable and it needed a new chain. I brought him to Ambassador Bikes (just off off Huron Line). The staff took one look at the rusted out, well used bike and said it wasn't worth fixing. They brought out a wonderful, used bike and GAVE it to him. I asked them how much was and they said that he could have it (free). I couldn't believe it!! What an amazing gift! This is a wonderful memory that he will carry with him when he returns to Brazil. This simple act of kindness has made all Windsorites and Canadians look good in the eyes of this foreign student. Thank you to Mark Long and Nate Bere! Your generosity has made me so proud to be a Canadian! #PayitForward #SpottedinWindsor
Heading to the passport office with 2 children. No easy task. Parked on Ouellette at the meter. Noticed the car in front of me had no time. So I put in the remainder of my change (only 10 minutes) but figured that might help. Applied for passports. Went to the subway on Dougall (beside the drive test center) 3/ $18 any footlongs. Great deal. Due to having 2 kids with me, I let the gentleman in front of me go ahead. While finishing my order and getting to the cash register, that gentleman left $12 towards my bill!! So to that kind gentleman. I send my thanks!! #Payitforward #SpottedinWindsor #Subway #Karma
The waitresses at Lone Star on Walker Road. My husband and I went out for dinner last night and brought along our 9 month old baby boy. Our baby was fantastic while we waited to place our order, ate our appetizer and waited for our meals. The second our meals came, he was super fussy and tired. My husband and I took turns eating and holding the baby as not to disturb the other restaurant patrons with a crying baby. A waitress saw this and said she had some free time and offered to walk with our baby while we both ate together.
I couldn't believe it! How awesome! Never would have expected service like this! She stayed near our table, rocking, talking and keeping our boy content while we enjoyed our meal.
Five stars to this waitress and the restaurant. Definitely one of our favourite dining spots and will be returning customers! #Lonestar #Dinner #SpottedinWindsor
