It's the little things, thank you

Today I admit I was impatient and frustrated in the drive thru at Timmies on Tecumseh at Roseville. The line was taking forever I was behind you just shaking my head. Come on line move, imagine my surprise when it came to be my turn and you had paid for my order. You were long gone when I came thru so I hope you see this. Thank you for making my day.

To the woman who feeds the deer on Armanda....

Let me first say, I know you mean well. I know you're probably an animal lover and that the deer go hungry in winter and you want to help. I get it. I hear that you hand feed them which must be magical and I know people drive by to see the deer gathered in your yard and that you're likely not thinking beyond the flowers.

Friday morning I was taking my daughter to school and was headed to work when I passed your house. A little deer ran across the road ahead of us and then there was a huge crash and my windshield exploded raining glass all over my daughter and me. I pulled over extremely shaken and waited for the police and tow truck. The car is probably totaled but that's not the point of this story.

I didn't know about you until I went to the Collision Reporting Centre. Apparently, there are a large number of such accidents in front of your house. I hear there are as many as 20 deer in your yard waiting for food every morning. My daughter and I are (miraculously) fine. I'm sure others haven't been so lucky. There's a deer dead or dying somewhere because it rolled over our hood leaving fur in the top of the broken windshield glass. That it crushed my daughters side of the car so badly leaves me with chills and grateful that she was not hurt.

Look, I now know and I will not be driving down Armanda again. For those of you who will, tred carefully, For you, the woman feeding the deer, I understand their habitat is diminishing. I understand that they have to be somewhere but to attract them in large numbers to a busy road is just madness - as is making a population of wild animals dependent of you for what they would normally scavenge.

Take this post for what you will. I now know about you and now you've also read my story. I'm not driving down your road again and what you do is up to you.

Good deed at Canadian Tire West Windsor

I was at Canadian Tire in West Windsor and when I got home I didn't have my cane. I remembered putting it in the cart at the Garden Centre so my husband and I drove back to Canadian Tire and there was my cane in the shopping cart area. Many thanks to the person that put it there. This just proves how nice the people in Windsor and area are.

Thank you for helping me on May 18th

Hi. I was involved in a pretty big accident on May 18th at the Tecumseh and Howard intersection. I want to thank all of the amazing people that came to my aid to make sure I was ok. Thank you to the lovely retired nurse who held my hand to keep me calm, the kind man that called my husband for me, and everyone else that talked to me and kept me calm. I also want to thank all of the Police Officers, Paramedics, Fire Fighters and Tow Truck Drivers that rushed to the scene and took control of the situation, you honestly do not get enough credit for what you do. Lastly, thanks to the nurses and doctors at the hospital that kept reassuring me that I was ok. I can't possibly express my gratitude to all of you enough! Windsor still has good people!!
