Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
Thank you to the man at Zehrs who called 911 after I was in a car accident. My Mother and I were too shaken to call the police ourselves. We appreciate that you took the time and stayed with us until the police arrived. We can't thank you enough. I wish there were more people like you. You had a young boy with you, and we couldn't help but think what a great example you are setting for your son.
Last night after Christmas dinner we went to Lakeshore Cinema. After the show let out I noticed my tire was flat. Had to leave the car there overnight and my son and I went back today. My son was having a bit of trouble getting the flat off and a wonderful gentleman stopped and helped us. Thank you for taking the trouble to help strangers, much appreciated.
Thank you so much to the beautiful, blonde, young lady with the kindest heart who volunteered to hold her spot in the Food Court at Devonshire Mall on Boxing Day while my daughter and I got lunch. She waited until we came back with our food just to make sure we had a place to sit and eat. You are so wonderful and I can't find the right words to express how much that meant to us.
Just want to send out a thank you to the other motorist and witnesses, EMS and the police officers that stopped to aid my mother and mother-in-law when they were involved in a collision at the intersection of Tecumseh and Howard on Christmas evening. Both ladies are okay. Extra special thank you to the lady kind enough to put Mom in her own van so that she stayed warm until the EMS arrived and the person who let my mom-in-law use their phone to contact us.
Today in a rush to get home and get our families Christmas dinner started, after work I made a stop at Joseph to get a few things. I get to the cashier have everything rang in.... and then I am searching for my debit card... then it dawned on me while out yesterday at another Christmas dinner we had made a stop on the way home, and I had left my card in my dressy coat.
I was telling the cashier to keep all my groceries and I would come back with my card, and then this voice behind me said that if I forgot my card she would pay for it, and asked me if it was ok. I was hesitant as I had never had anyone do that for me before, she paid for my groceries and I couldn't thank her enough! Nadine if you see this now all of Windsor knows that there are still good people out there and you have a heart of gold! Thank you again!
While I was doing some shopping is Tecumseh mall people where handing out little envelopes with Tim's gift cards in them. What a nice gestures and a simple way to say merry Christmas to the community.
On Christmas evening, my husband and I went for a short visit to our daughter's house. On the way home on George Avenue, a car was heading straight for us in our lane. We blared the horn, hit the brakes but the large white sedan didn't slow down. We had to veer over and jumped the curb to narrowly avoid a head-on collision. After coming off the curb the other car swerved back in his lane and kept going. A warning light came on and our tire flattened on our low-profile, custom tire. We were able to limp home, which was not far, with the four-ways on. The tire is ripped so it has to be replaced. So it's going to cost us at least $500 for a new tire, front-end alignment, new rims and pray nothing happened to the chassis. Thanks a lot and Merry Christmas to the jerk who caused an accident in what looked like a white Crown Victoria.
I would just like to wish the wonderful delicatessen lady at Mr. Meats on the West end a very Merry Christmas.
Yesterday my husband went to get a few last minute items. One of them was lunch meat to make quick snacks for today while I make our Christmas dinner feast.
When he came home he was moved by something you had said to him. You said " I just wanted to say thank you " He was puzzled and asked why. You responded that he was the first person to smile all day and that everyone shopping was very cross and not in the holiday spirit.
I just want to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas. I am sorry that the rest of the shoppers were in such states of mind that they forgot the simplicity of politeness. No matter what time of year or how busy people are they have no right to be so "ugly" in spirit. I hope everyone after my husband smiled at you as you are always so pleasant and kind.
