Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to Point Pelee for the day. On the way home, we stopped at the timmies on Erie st in Leamington.
As we were about to pay for our order, the employee notified us that the woman ahead paid for our order, and a man in front of her paid for hers. We also paid for the order behind us as well!
It's just a good feeling knowing that there are so many people out there with such big hearts. Little things like this make my day. Thank you.
Warren's story.
For 29 years Warren has been my grandma's neighbor, and has been a big part of our family. He is always helping out the neighbourhood cutting grass, pulling weeds, taking out everyone's garbage and recycle bins, always on the go keeping the neighbour clean. If you knew Warren, he does not like change, he loves to buy collector items, He watches certain shows, likes to sing, and follows a strict routine every day. He is the most honest and caring person I know, and tomorrow is his 64th birthday. Yesterday he lost his house, The city took over because it wasn't safe for him to live in anymore, they are tearing it down and trying to put him in a home. Warren loves his Independence and his home. It may not have been a good home but it was his. I watched him cry yesterday and it broke my heart when they took him away. Today he tried to come back and get some of his things but was not allowed back in his home, because it was boarded-up and condemned. He left with nothing, Today he wanted to sing to us before he was once again taken away, and I find the song that he sang was perfect for him in his situation right now. I wanted to tell his story because he can't and I'm praying everything works out for him!
This story has gone viral in 24 hours with VIDEO. Including many people who remember Warren on the Facebook groups " you know your from Windsor" and " If you grew up on Drouillard" .Warrens Story continues...
I also used to know Warren when my mother was his neighbour almost 25 years ago. I can also say that Warren is a VERY nice man who loves his neighbourhood and his neighbours. He was always polite and helped cut grass and kept himself very busy. He is an eccentric happy guy who suffers from a bit of OCD, likes to collect things, along with some learning disabilities, possibly autism making it VERY hard for him to accept change or to loose the only home he has know for so many years!
Two days ago the city kicked Warren out of his home and boarded it up. TODAY is Warrens 64TH Birthday!
What can we ALL do to HELP Warren??
A big thank you to the woman I briefly spoke to in line at the Met Hospital Tim Horton's this morning. We were both approaching the line from a different side and I let her go first (it's the gentlemanly thing to do... plus as we joked, the longer I'm in line, the longer I was on a break). We had a pleasant conversation while the line moved a long and each went to a different register. As I was ordering my items, she graciously handed the person at the register money to pay for my order as well. The offer was much appreciated and made my day - thank you very much!
I was at Hotel Dieu with my son Tuesday for 13 hours ... THANK YOU to the ER and Acute Care ... Nurse Dave and Nurse Pauline !!! No details required - you were spotted!! You took extra time to chat with us despite all the upsets going on there ... Many thanks from the Mom with her son battling Chrones !! xo
I had an appointment with my doctor for a check up at 915 and when I came in i was told my doctor got stuck in Toronto and couldnt make it. The secretary had no choicee but to over book the only nurse in there because another nurse had called in sick. Even with major bookings in one busy day this nurse was very pretty, genuine, warm hearted and explained everything to me. I think i want to switch my nurse to her. I hope with all that double work your busy day came along well. You have been spotted!
Today Tuesday May 12 being the hardest day of my families life I would love to thank a fine Windsor Motorcycle Police officer for showing the greatest RESPECT to my family. Today we laid our Mother to rest and as we proceeded to the cemetery this fine gentleman stopped his Police bike in the on coming lanes and held traffic at a stop while the procession slowly passed by. Not only did he stop traffic but he stood firmly at attention while saluting the entire procession. So I want to take this opportunity to personally Thank not only this fine officer but the entire Windsor Police force.
Thank You Sir from our family.
I just wanted to say thank you to the woman in yellow that I met at union station when her and I were both travelling back to Windsor. We never exchanged names, but I feel that people are put into our lives to maintain a sense of calmness and patience. We both experienced frustration when we were going to miss our train, and we were able to ride the subway back together when you needed to get to Finch station.
I just wanted to say that you seem like such a wonderful woman, thank you for being so kind to me when I ran into you back in Windsor and at Union.
You were wearing a yellow shirt, Tiffany glasses and you now live in New Market!
Congratulations to Junior Achievement for successfully bringing the Company Program back to Windsor. Both first year companies, Belle Organic Beauty Products and BYFY, broke even and wrote cheques to their shareholders. Good job to all individuals involved.
Great West Life Assurance and the Rotary Club of Windsor 1918 have also been spotted for sponsoring the Achiever's companies.
