Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I wanted to spot the Goodfellows of Lakeshore. Unfortunately, we are having a hard time this Christmas as m husband is the only one working as medical issues prevent me from working and with 3 kids that makes things hard. So, that left us applying for a Christmas hamper. I thought it would be a box of food and a turkey, just enough to get us through Christmas and my husbands lay off. To my surprise and amazement, they brought 4 boxes of food !! Veggies and clementines and milk! On top of that, there was a huge bag of clothing and toys !! I am so very thankful to you! I am overwhelmed and feel like there are so many people more needy or more deserving then us (ie:homeless). Once we are back on our feet again, we will be paying it forward. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. You have brought me to tears this day and truly made our lives better. Blessings to all of you this Christmas.
As I'm laying here I'm thinking because of the hard work of an Angel here in Windsor, the homeless people get 3 hot meals a day, the warmth of a place to belong and lots of love and help! Many people help out as well but if not for this one remarkable woman a lot of people would be lost, hungry and feel unloved!! WINDSOR'S ANGEL is what I call her and will forever call her!! Christine Wilson-Furlonger I'm honored to know you! And Windsor is lucky to have our very own Angel! Thank-you
Monday night I was leaving Metro with my 4 year old daughter and 7 year old niece. As we got near the Tim Hortons booth I whispered to the girls 'say Merry Christmas to the lady behind the counter I bet it will make her day' as we walked by both girls smiled and loudly said Merry Christmas' the girl working looked up with a huge smile and said 'Merry Christmas' my 7 year old niece looks at me with pure excitement and says 'she smiled she was so happy we said that'. Then a young guy - maybe 20 walks by ... without missing a beat the girls say it again. He looked at them with a huge smile and replied Merry Christmas! Thank you to you both for making a point to acknowledge these two young girls who were learning a life lesson. We talked about how someone could be having a bad day and a simply Merry Christmas could turn their day around.
Thank you to Mike (I believe that's your name) who works at the Jiffy lube on dougall. Without your kindness and generosity I would still be stuck. You went out of your way by rescuing my friend and I who were stranded in a gas station with a flat tire. You took 20 minutes out of your journey home to help a complete stranger out; all while turning down my offering for your time. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, I was still able to attend my son's karate party. Good karma will come to you. I wish you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Tonight a family came to my house with a wagon full of stockings asking if I had any children and I said yes two...they said they were doing a Christmas giveaway...they gave my kids each a stocking full of gifts...then asked if there were other kids in the neighborhood so I let them know which houses to go to...What a wonderful gesture...thank you again and Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Denise and Kandis, who work at the Hallmark store at Devoshire Mall need to be recognized for absolutely exemplary customer service. We were in there today when a very nice but challenging customer came in. This woman could have completely disrupted the store with her at time confusing demands, but the service Denise and Kandis provided her was amazing, while at the same time keeping all of their other customers happy. It would have been so easy for them to become frustrated or annoyed with this lady, but their kindness and patience needs to be recognized.
Dear Friends,
Asking for the possibility for you to give back this Holiday Season. A family very close to our hearts, and who have only been in this country for 10 months(from Colombia) have suffered a fire in their apartment building after one of their Christmas candles caught the tree on fire. Along with damage to their own belongings, today they were hit with an invoice for $1652.00 due immediately for damages to the dwelling. We have contacted Legal Aid to help the family, but they are closed for the holidays and the Management Company is threatening eviction if the balance is not paid due to the fact that they have sold their property. My husband and I have helped with the renovations and will be helping with Christmas gifts as well, we are just trying to give this family a good first Christmas in Canada. If you are willing to donate a gift, or even a Christmas card with well wishes, I know they would appreciate it so very much! The family consists of a father, mother, son (15 years of age) and daughter (12 years of age). The parents do not speak English, but the two children are learning!
Please let me know if you are interested in helping out. You can email me at marisa@jgdrywallandpainting.com
Thanks!
I was working Saturday early afternoon at the KFC on Bridge and Wyandotte and a young woman had come in to order her food. After he debit card had been declined a few times she began to walk out without her food. The gentleman behind her waiting then asked how much her order was and proceeded to pay for it! I was the cashier and you have been spotted good for you! We all talked about how awesome and great of a person you are after you left.
Not many people would have done that!
