Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
This morning all three of our dogs escaped our backyard during the mini blizzard unbeknownst to me. When I did notice them gone, the snow had covered their tracks and had no idea where they could have gone. While driving around searching, a family had pulled over and managed to get two of them and helped put them in my vehicle. When I explained the third was still missing they did not hesitate to join the search until she was found. Thank you to Laura, your husband, and son for your help. I hope you read this, you are thanked from the bottom of my heart. Happy ending, all three are home and snuggled on the bed
To the kind man named Wayne who helped Wes and I save money and gave us a ride home from the grocery store on a day like today. It's people like you that remind me that there is still kindness in the world!!
I wanted to send a spotting on behalf of me, my brother, and sister about our amazing parents. This morning (jan 10), my dad was driving my mom to work at the hospital when they came across a devastating scene. They were driving on the ramp from Dougall onto the expressway when they passed a body laying on the ground and immediately stopped. They assisted as much as they could... I don't want to add too many details in respect to people involved.
I am extremely touched and inspired to know that my own parents had the courage to stop and help as much as they could, despite the weather conditions. We love our parents very much!
I just wanted to give my condolences to all of the people involved. To the person who lost their life today and to the person who accidentally hit the victim, you are all in my prayers!
So today I was going to bring my 1 1/ 2 year old to the new daycare she will be attending. The daycare is located in south Windsor I don't know my way around south Windsor AT ALL. I ended up getting lost and trying to find the nearest bus stop. I didn't bring the stroller but I sure should have. My daughter ended up falling asleep and with all the stuff I had in my hands just made this walk a lot harder and to top it all off it starts down pouring. Finally I see a bus stop and as I'm walking to it a couple drove up to me asked if I needed a ride, they looked like very nice people but I told them no that I was just going to the bus stop and it was just right there. They said "please let us help you I can see that you've been struggling" then I said okay and got into the car they told me there names were Jordan and Ashley and that there both nurses and we continued to talk until it was my stop. I just want to say a big thank you to you guys for doing that your extremely good people and your kindness will be paid forward who knows you might even win the lottery you were talking about thank you again
Today my morning didn't start off so great, being a supply teacher it has it's ups and downs. But at 7:35am at the walker road McDonald's I was just stopping in to get my morning coffee, when I pulled up to pay for my order the employee informed me that you had already payed for it. You were driving a four door white G5. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and let you know that you made my day and I had a big smile on my face driving into work, forgetting about how horrible my morning was. I will defiantly pass on the act of kindness. You've been spotted 😀 Thank you so much
We went out for my birthday this afternoon to Buffalo Wild Wings. My friend went up to the waitress, asked her for a piece of cake with a candle if possible. they had no candles so she went above and beyond and made a hand-drawn candle and put it through a straw into the cake.... Thx for making my 35th birthday something to remember!!
I purchased 3 avocados from Zehrs on Malden Road, and when I got home, they were no where to be found. I searched my entire car, thinking maybe they rolled around by accident, but no luck. I'm an on-call worker, and haven't been working much lately, and the avocados were basically a splurge, due to their price (but they're oh-so-yummy). I went back to the store the next day to pick up an item I forgot, and decided to check the front to see if they had a "left-behind log" for food. They did have this log, and I showed my recipe, but my avocados weren't listed. The friendly cashier said, "Just go pick out some more; you have your receipt, and I don't think that you'd come all the way back for 3 avocados if you already had them."
I worked at the same chain of grocers in the past, and I know that if the item left behind wasn't logged, the policy was that we couldn't give the customer the item. I asked if the cashier was sure, and she said, "Yes! Go ahead! If anyone stops you, I'll pay for them!"
She has no idea how much she made my day. Now I can "indulge" on avocados and not feel guilty for spending the money on something extra while not working much. Thank you so much for your kindness!!
While having lunch today at work a group of us witnessed two kind hearted people. A civilian passbyer and a police officer who stopped the traffic on riverside drive to save the life of a squirrel.
Cops care for everyone!
