Helping a blind man

This morning at Goyeau and Wyandotte, I was pulling out of a parking lot and saw a blind man hesitating in the middle of the road. Immediately, this young man hurried out to him, asked if he could help, and patiently escorted him safely across the street. Nicely done. I used to take this sort of thing for granted - anyone would do this - but I've learned that it's worth emphasising and drawing attention to the small kindnesses we extend one another, because not everyone seems to get it!

La Rucola - Kyle R

Tonight my husband and I went to La Rucola for dinner because due to working we have not been able to spend much time together. We were greeted by our waiter and given suggestions on what to try. Once we ordered he kept coming back to ask us how our wine, appetizer and entrees were. This was a night we both needed to spend quality time together. At the end of the night when we were paying our bill he asked if we like comedians. We responded yes and that we looked into Tracy Morgan at the casino tonight. He preceeded to tell us he had two tickets he wasn't using because his father got ill. He offered them to us and did not think twice about asking for anything in return. Thank you Kyle for allowing me and my husband to have a night out when we don't always have the time to. Thank you for being a kind person and I will be sure to pay your kindness forward.

Pronto Plumbing Employee helps out

Yesterday afternoon I was dropping my husband off where he is a volunteer music teacher on Drouillard Road when we saw that a friend of his had a mishap with his wheelchair and was on the sidewalk unable to get back in his chair. Before I could stop the car so my husband could get out and help, an employee driving a Pronto Plumbing van put his four-ways on and ran across the street to assist. This gentleman helped my husband get his friend back in to the wheelchair and made sure he was okay. Thankfully no one was hurt and our friend was able to continue on with his evening.

I called the company last night to let them know what a fine employee they have working for them, and to ensure he got some recognition. I wasn't able to get his name, but was able to jot down the license and the company. The owner called me back and told me that while he is proud of his employee for stepping up, he would expect that of all the people in the company - it should be the human response.

We often hear about people passing by or not noticing when someone is in need, it is nice to see people in our community still do the right thing - as the owner of the company put it - "the human thing".

Bravo to Pronto Plumbing, and the gentleman who stopped to help. You have been spotted.

I know that if I need plumbing work done in the future, yours will be the first company I call.

Awesome Mcdonalds Employee

Tonight, February 1st I stopped in at the McDonald's downtown to use the rest room and the internet. My phone wasn't working without WiFi and I was having a horrible night. I was at the point of tears. One of the employees , a nice young lady (didn't catch her name) came over to me with a tea and said "I made this by accident, did you want it?"
Young lady. You have no idea how much I needed that tea to relax and calm down. You have been spotted! I hope your manager is reading this because you did more than was expected :)

Amazing Customer Service

On Saturday I stopped at Mr.Shiskabob on parent and Ottawa street. I had never been there before and all I wanted was two gyros to go. The lovely woman behind the counter said it's gonna be a little bit. I said that's fine. I had my 6yr old and 3yr old with me so I said go look at tge fish. The woman comes around the counter and brings out a game for them to play with. Well orders done said thank you very much. She and the cook had made some French fries for the girls and also gave them a treat when leaving. I just wanted to say thank you for your awesome customer service and making my girls very happy. I Will definitely come back .

Excellent Emplyee

I was shopping around 6 and I wanted to say great job to the Deli night stuff at Metro on Banwell. The girl working there was amazing and she handled a hard situation very professionally. I want to say to the lady that yelled at the employee, that the world does not revolve around you. You have to realize that you have to wait your turn to get serivce and it was not the employee's fault you couldn't find what you wanted. There was no need to yell at the employee.

Thankful for Lauzon Rd Fire Dept.

Tonight my mother in law was tboned while making a legal left hand turn on the turning light right in front of the fire dept. When a car ran a red light and tboned my mother in laws van. In that van was 2 of my sons,my daughter in law to be, my daughter and my daughters 2 children ages 28 days and 18 months. My daughter in law instead of waiting for 911 to show ran across the street and firemen came running to their rescue. Brian I would personally like to thank as he talked to my daughter who was knocked out for a brief moment and held her head still as they waited for the ambulance and for the firemen who helped with the babies and my family, I am so grateful for you each and every one of you. If it would have been worse that would have been my whole family in one swoop. Life is short and I am grateful and appreciative for all that you do, humanity, compassion and patience. While my daughter was in a panic about her children and most of all keeping her calm. I can't say ty enough, as tears stream down my face thinking this could have been worse. daughter was released from the hospital she will have bruising on her face as she is not sure what she hit but she hit hard. The rest of normal seat belt injuries, bruised shoulders and sore necks. The youngest baby has no marks and no loss of appetite and grand daughter has a small bruise on her left eye that I am sure will be black by tomorrow. Small injuries from what could have been worse, ty again from the bottom of my heart !!! I would have been a lost cause if I would have lost any not to mention all of them xoxo sorry also ty to them for playing with my grand daughter in the fire house and giving her a light brown teddy bear so she could hug away her fears. Her mother also says ty so much to them all,she doesn't remember too much but she remembered Brian's name. Picture of the bear they gave her in her new car seat.
