Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I have purchased coffee's for other people in the Timmie's drive thru a few times but this morning someone bought my coffee :)...thanks to the guy driving the black Charger in front of me. I'll be sure to pay it forward again :) made my day :)
At the Wal-Mart check out I was having a hard time. If anything could go wrong it did.
I was trying to price match some soups for my son. And found out the sale was over.
Alastair in the check-out next to mine offered to pay for my groceries! I was stunned! I told her thank you but I was ok... I turned around to go grab something for my baby and realized she had left me a $50 gift card before she left!
I am so thankful for the kindness of this lady as it helped my family have an Easter!
I just wanted everyone to know that kindness is still in Windsor! And this Lady (bless her heart!) Made my two kids very Happy this Easter.
Today around 6:30 pm I had to rush my 5 yr old Chocolate Lab Jersey to the vet. Unable to get her out of my Jeep a young man who was walking down John Street saw that I was having a hard time. He kindly lifted her to the ground. She was unable to walk a few steps and would fall down. This young man helped her to the door and carried her up the stairs. I did not get your name but would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. I would really like to find out who you are to thank you personally. You have been spotted!
To the very nice lady that was having breakfast this morning with her little boy in the Toronto blue jays shirt at Donna Mae's. I just want to say 'Thank you' very much for buying us breakfast. Your kindness is more than appreciated. I'll be sure to pay it forward.
Thanks again!
My daughter is 15 years old is having a very hard time with her self-esteem. She has been relentlessly ridiculed by many of the "young ladies" (trying to be delicate with my wording) she now goes to school with - they pick on her for her clothing, her skin, her voice, her hair, her eyebrows, the list goes on. It breaks my heart to say that this bullying has convinced my beautiful daughter that she is ugly, and her formerly outgoing and peppy personality has dimmed.
At her request, we went to the Sephora inside Devonshire mall a few days ago to pick up some light makeup (mascara, lipgloss, maybe a foundation or concealer), hoping it would make her feel more comfortable at school and that some of the snide remarks from the other girls would subside. I was against this at first, but if there was a possibility of it boosting her confidence, I decided it would be alright.
The main reason that I am writing this is due to the service that I received in the store and the associate's impression on my daughter. We had been in the store for a bit when a young girl approached us and asked us if there was anything she could help us with (Shayna? Shaina? I'm sorry, I can't remember the accurate spelling although I tried to memorize her name tag). She was a petite blonde girl, absolutely stunning, and fit almost all of the criteria (from the outside) as the type of girls who pick on my daughter. Both myself and my daughter sometimes feel intimidated in this store - the girls are often made up beautifully, they exude confidence... for someone new to makeup, or someone with pre-existing self-esteem issues, it's easy to feel somehow inferior, regardless of their sunny disposition. This time, I was blown away.
We were helped with products of course, but more than anything her kindness towards my daughter was what stunned me. I feel as though she somehow caught onto my daughters struggles with self-esteem during our conversation, and she went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable in her own skin. She pointed out the areas that my daughter has been most insecure about lately (like her full brows, her curly hair.. the things I've been trying to convince her not to change about herself) and expressed how beautiful she thought they were - SERIOUSLY girl, are you psychic??? She took the time to truly relate to my daughter. They talked about what had been going on at school, self-confidence, what truly makes a person beautiful, and how makeup is just something to enhance your natural beauty. These are things I've been trying unsuccessfully to convey. She was so genuine, kind-hearted and thoughtful. They even joked around a bit, and I saw my daughter light up and act silly for the first time in MONTHS. It's crazy how a 20 minute interaction can make such an impact. So, Shayna, I hope you see this, and from me and my daughter (who is no longer begging me to let her wax her eyebrows), a sincere and heartfelt thank you for your beautiful spirit.
You made their day. The fire department came to our neighborhood for a minor incident. The kids were just getting home from school and saw the truck and of course were facinated. Thank you Fire Fighters for taking the time to talk to the kids and letting them check out the truck. It warmed my heart to see the smiles as they ran home. You guys are my heros
When a goose was acting wild and obviously scared on riverside drive and st.rose I saw a man pull over his car and approach the goose, I kept driving but couldn't stop thinking about the goose and man so I went around the block and stopped on st.rose and got out of my car, by this time there was already a small group of people watching as you held the goose to calm it down, when it was calm you then very carefully removed the fishing hook and fishing line that was wrapped around its beak, wings AND legs. I noticed a few people in the crowd had their phones out of anyone has pictures or video to post I would love this man to be recognized. You had to leave because you said you were late for work, but this man was driving a red Saturn car, had a fade style haircut and when one woman asked if he was an animal expert he said "no I work at Windsor's turf", and you also weren't too bad to look at either ;). I never got your name but you have been spotted for your excellent deed. I had a smile on my face all day thinking about it.
I just wanted to give a shout out to my son's daycare. After being called back to work 6 months early for a new job, I didn't want to put him in daycare. My hubby was able to take a couple months off thankfully, but the time eventually came. I last minute switched him to ABC on Somme. I can't say enough great things about the ladies that work there. The administrator Helen is amazing. She's so kind, caring and you can actually tell she loves my son. Any issues with him, she always calls and today she had to tell me it was time for him to move up to the toddler room, something I've been dreading because he loves the infant room so much and he's not good with change. She was so nice and voiced that she knew this was something I was worried about. It's so nice to know she listens and actually hears parents concerns and then does everything she can to make us feel better. The staff is also amazing. My son loves them so much. You can tell they love my son like their own. It's such a comforting feeling to know they care about him like I would. They even go above and beyond. I recently was out of town and they made sure they sent me extra videos and pictures. All the ladies there are so amazing. ABC Daycare Somme, you've been spotted! Thank you for all you do :)
