Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
On Thursday my mother had car trouble on Banwell Road, my 3 year old son was with her. The wait for CAA was an hour and a half. Now, an hour and a half is a long time for anyone to wait at the side of the road on a hot day, but to have to do it with a very spirited 3 year old is an entirely different type of challenge. My mother as always was a trouper and was skipping and hopping up and down the road counting blades of grass, birds and butterflies and keeping my little guy entertained. In that hour and a half wait my mom could not believe how many people stopped to offer them assistance, drinks, to make phone calls or offer them a ride. A sweet couple even circled back around bringing them cold water and a snack for my little man. Thank you to all the folks who took the time to stop, your kindness was so appreciated.
I want to give a HUGE recognition to the OPP and in particular to Constible Lehaux (sp?).
We rent a secondary building on our property as a vacation rental and I received a call this morning from the company which reviews credit card charges and detects fraud. They advised me that the tenants currently residing in our place used a card that was considered high risk . It seems they had used at least six credit cards, all with different names, using the same address in the last couple of weeks. Of course the credit card charge was reversed and the fraud risk analyst advised that I call the police. I did as advised however, the residents were checking out today and left via a cab before the OPP could get to our house. In speaking with Constable Lehaux, I explained that they left in a cab and she immediately said she had a way to possibly track them down. About an hour later she had another Constable come to my home to tell me they had the three men detained. They were on the 401 near Chatham. I know I will likely never see the money for the two nights they stayed at our rental, nor recoup the money from damages they caused but if these guys are charged and locked up, it would definitely be worth my losses. So THANK YOU to the Belle River and Chatham OPP who worked so quickly to get these guys and showed concern and care by keeping me in the loop, we are so fortunate to have you!
Just want to say 'thank you' very much to Andrew, the Assistant Manager in the Bakery Department at Costco for all you did in helping us with a very special cake order. My husband ordered the cake last week and we picked the cake up on Monday. You were very kind and understanding of our situation. Words can't express. Thank you again!!!
I wanted to thank Trisha, from the bakery at Sobeys Amherstburg for creating the best cake ever for my daughter's birthday! She had called last week to inform me that in spite of all their best efforts, the image machine at their store would just not work and they would be unable to provide me with the image we ordered for our cake. She gave me a couple of other options of what we could do on the cake. I thanked her and said we will figure something out. I had to call back a short time later to clarify a couple of thinks and she repeatedly thanked me for being so kind and not getting mad at her. She had made several calls that day and most had not been received well. I went on a hunt for something to put on this cake and finally settled on a package of stickers I found at a dollar store. My daughter's party was dog themed, so it had to fall into that category. I took the stickers in to Tricia and she was so nice and thanked me again for being so nice and pleasant about the situation and introduced me to her coworkers as her favorite customer that was so nice about the cake. I laughed and left the stickers in her capable hands. We'll let me tell you, not only did the cake look amazing, my daughter was jumping up and down saying it was even better than the boring picture she was supposed to get and it was the best cake ever because no one will ever have one like it!
I would also like to say shame on the people that were so enraged with this poor woman that was just doing her job. She has no control over the machine and they had done everything in their power up until that point to rectify the issue. They were offering other solutions to try and accommodate the orders. My daughter cried at first when I told her, but she's a child and I would expect that reaction from a child.
To the police officer who saved my life yesterday, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Please people don't follow the GPS, It sometimes give you the wrong direction and put your life in dangerous.
If only you knew.
Spotted: To the man who was standing next my truck to give me a heads up that my back passenger tire was damaged with a big screw on the "Side wall". You offered to change it and put a spare on so we can drive away safely. I told you it wasn't an issue that my husband would come. You insisted and made sure my child and I were comfortable, noticing I was worried about someone else besides my husband changing it. I even offered to call a tow truck instead of bothering you. You were amazing as you showed my son how to change a tire (he was 5 and was so excited to help.)
What you didn't know is that earlier in the store I walked by a couple that I overheard talking about my clothes being tight. They whispered and giggled everytike they would pass me.
Because I was too scared to stand up for myself I left the store feeling ashamed and embarrassed the whole time. Once I walked out of the store after paying, there you were waiting patiently to help save someone's life.
By the time my husband got my message and arrived you had already finished and said your goodbyes. He missed you to thank you. I was with my child and I'll be the first to admit I wouldn't have likely noticed it. You likely saved 2 lives because my husband looked at it and was so glad someone had noticed it before we went onto the ECRow.
So thank you from me my son and my husband.
Signed
The lady in the black SUV
Saying a huge thank you to the kind, honest person for turning in my GreenShield and Health cards that I misplaced at the Walker Rd SuperStore Thursday, June 8.
Truly appreciated! Thanks again.
