I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation for all of the healthcare workers and hospital staff. I was recently at Hotel Dieu for some routine procedures and I must say I was met with the kindest and friendliest staff. Each person I came into contact with went above and beyond in making me feel comfortable, reassuring me and of course, taking proper COVID precautions. Being there, spending just a short time with these wonderful people has really caused me to sit and reflect on all the hardships they have faced this year. We discussed how many of the nurses, doctors and other staff won't be able to see even their immediate family over the holidays as they will be working tirelessly to care for regular people like you and me. It is my hope for the holidays that we all each take a second to thank a healthcare worker and acknowledge just how much we appreciate their sacrifices. Employees who are overworked, under paid and sacrificing so much of their lives to care for complete strangers, to hold the hands of patients who are scared, becoming family to those who's families can't be with them. It takes incredibly selfless and kindhearted people to do that. Words truly can not express how appreciative I am. Thank you to our Healthcare Heroes.
My son works at Zehrs in Lasalle doing click and collect. Yesterday during his shift after packing a ladies car with her groceries, she handed my son a little gift bag filled with candy as well as a gift card to Tim Horton's, and a thank you card saying our family is thankful for essential workers. It made my son's night! So to the lady that is showing her gratitude and appreciation to essential workers, thank you! You are a class act!
On December 13th I had lunch at Jose's on Howard and when I received my bill some kind soul had paid a portion of the bill. This just made my day. Thank you so much.
I wanted to share a feel good story about my shopping experience at the Devonshire Mall this afternoon, December 11th around 4pm. My daughter and I went to the mall to finish up some Christmas shopping and we went to Garage. My daughter was trying on some clothing and there were two girls who had just come into the store. They looked very happy, laughing and having a great time enjoying each other's company while browsing the clothes. My daughter came out as they waited to enter the fitting room and they just started complimenting her. You look so great in those pants! Those pants look amazing on you! You need to buy those, they look so comfy and cozy! It brought a smile to my daughter's face as well as mine. The employee showing the ladies to their change rooms was also complimented. You look perfect in that outfit! Wow, you look so good - that outfit looks so good on you! . Again, more smiles from everyone involved. The girls names were Veronica and Annie (I heard the staff member ask when directing them to their change rooms). To Veronica and Annie, you two girls brought so much joy and happiness to us today. I wish more women would build each other up, share compliments, create feel good vibes and smile more often. You made my day. You made me realize that there is still happiness to be had even in these horrible times. Thank you for being you! Keep it up!
Morning of December 10th around 9:30am at Sobeys on Amy Croft, I was shopping for some supplies for a Christmas package for kids from our church. A sweet lady named Janette commented on the items in my cart because I had such a large quantity of the same item. When I explained what it was for, she pulled out a $20 to donate to the cause and wouldn't take no for an answer. I just wanted to give a shout out for the generous and thoughtful act of kindness.
I would like to put a cashier at Freshco in the spot light. Doris D
This lady gives a smile that lights up the whole place. She deals with stress of everything going on with a sarcastic comedy. She can put a smile on even the most miserable customer. Her line up is usually long, because everyone loves to be served by her.
You can see she is full of love and cares about her customers. Doris D please never change. Freshco @ Rivard congrats to you for having such a lovable woman for us all to look forward to seeing.
I wanted to thank whoever turned in my iPad, it's black zip case and the contents under the flap. It occurred Friday December 4th in the afternoon at Canadian Tire in Essex. My local store was out of stock on the item I wanted, so I made the trip to Essex. I was chatting with the cashier at the time, noticed I was running late, and in my rush I left my iPad, case and gloves after grabbing my purse. Thank you so much mystery person. The iPad is old, but has all my grandkids photos, photos of my deceased father who I love dearly and my appointments scheduled for the next few months. I was told when I called that a customer found it and turned it in.
Still so many honest people today! Thanks again.
l can't thank you enough. So happy to have it back. Bless you for your honesty and may you have a wonderful Christmas.
