My heart is completely melted

So, I went into Subway earlier this evening with my little sister who's 3. We were standing in line and I noticed the man in front of us kept giving my little sister a smile and making her laugh. I placed the order for my sister and when I went to go pay, the cashier said "the man infront of you paid for the meal." my heart literally melted and I got so emotional I almost started crying lol. I turned around so quickly to find the man but he disappeared super quickly. I went outside to look and I couldn't spot him anywhere. So, to the man who paid for my sister's dinner this evening, if you're reading this, thank you so much. You have no idea how happy and emotional it made me. I truly wish I would've gotten to thank you in person, maybe one day we'll cross paths again and I'll be able to.

Thank you!

My grandfather recently passed away. Of course it's a devastating situation. However, the way that Windsor Chapel Funeral Home handled everything was amazing. T.J. (funeral director) took it upon himself to borrow a Toronto Maple Leaf's jersey and brought a fishing rod to place near my grandfather, as he came to find when speaking with my family, that grandpa loved the leafs and fishing! It sounds like such a small detail, but it meant so much to all of us. And the way that they treated my grandmother there, was as if they were part of our family, grieving with us. I realize that this is their job, but T.J. did not have to go out if his way to bring those items, and they definitely did not have to treat us all as if we were family. Those people are definitely in the right line of business. They showed compassion and sympathy, and I'd like to thank them on behalf of my family. You were all wonderful! You made my grandma's life a little easier, and I thank you for that.

Auto Service

I just want to thank and recommend Discount Auto Service on Hanna and Howard Ave. Never have I been treated so kind and fair by any mechanic, specially during a time in my life when I really needed a break. If you ever need service go there! I know that I will be going there from now on.

I don't want to park in handicapped parking..

I was struggling to find a handicapped spot for my son's wheelchair van. He and I were on a mission to replace some items we lost in the flood.
I pulled into an opening as soon as I spotted it and right beside me another one opened, a midsize SUV pulled into the wheelchair spot and the kid in the driver's seat was on his own. No wheelchair, no equipment for mobility in sight, just a cell phone in his hand he was glued too.
I tucked away my son's ramp and locked my doors while observing this young man hop out of the vehicle. I know, I get it, there's 'invisible disabilities' but there's still these extra wide parking spots for equipment and people should really park elsewhere if they don't utilize the width like those of us who don't want to unload our handicapped family members onto a sidewalk and look around for a 'regular' spot, it's very difficult.
It took me some courage and I rarely do this but as he was hopping out of the car and walking and appeared quite healthy and athletic our eyes made contact,. I said "Dude, I suspect you have a handicapped sticker but it's not yours right?"... Without hesitation this 17-18 year old said "you know what, it's my dad's and he's not here so I really should not be parked here, I'll move ma'am"..... and he got into the car and moved it! Wow. Whoever you are, in that fleeting moment you thought you'd take advantage and you didn't and weren't rude or ignorant and took responsibility for your actions when confronted. Your parents should be so proud of you and I am too. I would trade my child's disability for your abilities and park as far away in the smallest car and smallest parking spot ever ! if I could. I never ever park in a handicapped spot unless he is with me. This system of handicapped stickers is being abused and there are so many unnecessarily using it, and it's just not fair to those of us who need the space. I hope those of you who are reading this and guilty of doing this, perhaps you could learn from this teenager and appreciate your ability and enjoy it because it would be an absolute dream for my son to be able to walk and it will never happen - I really don't want to park there, I have too. Just appreciate your legs and health and show some compassion for those not so lucky in life!

Amazing staff at Met hospital

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the awesome staff at Met hospital. My son was rushed in by ambulance on Thursday for something that turned serious fast. From the ambulance attendants that brought him in and continued to wait by his side while he was being treated, to the ER nurses and drs to the entire paediatric staff you are truly amazing. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement you proved this was more than a job! Just to name a few "the Michelle's" and Carrie you put my son and I at ease during a stressful time. From the bottom of my heart thank you. You have no idea how much I appreciate your going above and beyond! You all are truly angels at our times of need. From my husband and I thank you for helping our son get better again so we could take him home. Bless You all

Sincere Thanks!

Just a huge thank you to "Kate" who stopped to help me when my car broke down on the 401 westbound today. After realizing I had no phone, I had to resort to flagging for help. Kate quickly pulled over, let me use her phone (to call both work and for assistance) and made sure I was ok. Thank you Kate for taking time out of your day to make mine better!
